Emmys 2016 plus complete list of winners!

Sarah Paulson 2016 EmmysWhat a night for television!

Last evening’s 68th annual Emmy Awards was a star-studded soirée filled with heartwarming speeches, incredible fashion, record-breaking wins, delicious hand-delivered sandwiches, and aptly timed Donald Trump jabs.

The miniseries The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story was the belle of the ball, running away with five categories — lead acting for its two stars Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance, supporting acting for Sterling K. Brown, Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, and the big one, Outstanding Limited Series.

Taking home three statuettes last night, including Outstanding Drama Series, awards darling Game of Thrones broke the all-time record for the highest number of Emmy Awards won by any fictional series, beating out long-running champ Frasier with a new total of 38 wins.

The biggest shockers of the night came when Emmy underdogs Rami Malek and (Canadian) Tatiana Maslany both won Lead Actor and Actress gold for their work in Mr. Robot and Orphan Black, respectively.

Looking at this list above and there are very few shows that were actually on mainstream cable. All of them are on specialty channels. No sense my watching any of the awards shows this season or from now on as there is nothing that I know about. Some of the shows I have heard of, but definitely never seen. The only good thing is to see the styles being worn, but again, most of the people I’ve never seen before either.
