Golden Globe nominations announced!

Golden GlobeThe nominees for the 73rd annual Golden Globe Award nominations were announced this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Carol, a feature film starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara as two lesbians who fall in love, leads the way with five nominations, including two in the best actress in a drama category for both leads. It also has a nod for Best Picture – Drama.

The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprioSteve Jobs starring Michael Fassbender and The Big Short were close behind with four nominations each, including two for best actor in a comedy for Steve Carell and Christian Bale for the latter movie.

Two-time Golden Globe award winner Denzel Washington will receive the Cecil B. Demille Award for career achievement.

The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Ricky Gervais after a three year absence. This will be his fourth time hosting the awards. The 73rd Golden Globes will be televised and will take place on January 10, 2016.
