Hugh Jackman offered $100 million to continue playing Wolverine

It’s been 13 years since Hugh Jackman first showed us his adamantium claws as the most iconic mutant of the X-Men pack, Wolverine. And once Days of Future Past is completed, his commitment to the character is officially done. It’s going to be hard picturing anyone but Jackman playing the superhero—he’s the only actor to have played a live-action version of Wolverine—and we’re not the only ones who think that. Fox Pictures is allegedly offering the Australian actor a whopping $100 million to keep the claws on a little while longer and sign on for four more films. The offer may be jaw-dropping, but getting $25 million for one movie is not much compared to Robert Downey Jr.’s massive paycheck of $50 million for playing Tony Stark in last year’s The Avengers. Jackman would also play a major role in each of the four movies, unlike in X-Men: First Class where he made a 25-second cameo. Though his spokesperson dismissed the report, Jackman spoke to Entertainment Weekly earlier this year saying that although he’s noncommittal, the door is certainly open. “I’m not sure. I wasn’t even sure after the first [stand-alone] film if I would do another. I won’t say never, because I’m still loving it. But there would have to be a pretty compelling reason.” ~Naomi Leanage

I like him playing the wolverine better than any actor.

Well… if $100 millions isn’t a compelling enough reason, nothing would be.

That’s amazing 25mil a movie for upto 100million $$$ is amazing because that means 4 more movies in the franchise and I’m telling you it would be ruined without anyone of the xmen but especially Hugh Jackman!!

He should hold out for more money.

Ok there are people who ‘own’ the role. He’s certainly at the top of the list. Especially because his character doesn’t really age so he can play the past and the future..there is no different actor, it’s always him. Unlike prof. X or Beast and Magneto etc. Even Superman in DC universe is iconic character but they are finding the one who can own the role.
Jackman was made for this and he should feel nobody can do a better job and play it out till it’s not fun anymore.

Robert Downey Jr. is paid way too much! No wonder movie prices are going through the roof. That’s more money than anyone needs. Keanu Reeves said once that he’s already made more money than he can spend and on one movie, he gave his entire paycheque to the crew.

I hope he continues to play Wolverine. I couldn’t imagine anyone else in this role. I’ll never tire of seeing Hugh as Wolverine.

Yeah I think 100 million is a pretty f***ing compelling reason to keep playing the Wolverine. Don’t play hard to get, Hugh, you little tease you. Giving me blue balls and all.

Really? I still dont see it and I’ve watched the movie over and over again! A new actor only will break the continuity of the character but Hugh brings nothing more to it. Arrgh, big metal paws but slashes at the enemy like a little girl…Turn the character around where he enjoys his metal body and does some damage and not compaint that it hinders like a teenage boy, sniff, sniff…Anyway he should take the money because everything else he does, suck!
