American Psycho gets small budget remake

Noble Jones, whose only film credit is working as a second-unit director on The Social Network, has been given the go-ahead by Lionsgate to write a remake of the 2000 cult classic American Psycho, which starred Christian Bale as a serial killer. The new film will be a low budget remake and will be updated to modern day New York, rather than the 1980s Wall Street setting of the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis. The film gained Bale much critical acclaim, but it’s unclear why any studio believes a low budget remake would be a good idea, since the original American Psycho, though now a cult classic, didn’t do well at the box office, making just $15 million in total.

    This is just silly…
American Psycho is a great film and there is no reason for it to be remade, especially considering it is less than 15 years old.

When will these movie makers understand that we don’t need any remakes!

Wayyy too soon for a remake. Be original people. This is a classic now.

JESUS Please say that this idea gets killed. This is a movie that should just be left alone. Whats next…. a remake of the godfather trilogy or apocalypse now? Leave it alone for the love of god.

The sequel was pretty good, why remake a classic?
