Although we’ve been offered teaser trailers and a Comic-Con trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, this new one sets up the premise of the movie in a fresh way that gives us a glimpse of how things get started. It looks like Lex Luthor (energetically played by Jesse Eisenberg) could be the instigator in the tension that develops between Batman and Superman.
The trailer begins at a fancy gathering, where Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) pulls up in a car. He’s approached by Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), who’s on the job as a reporter covering the event. Although it appears to be their first meeting, it seems they know who their alter egos are, and they don’t agree on each other’s methods. Lex jumps in, bringing levity to the scene, but he obviously has an agenda, as we see later in the trailer.
Watch what happens when two superheroes concentrate more on what the other is doing, rather than on the evil that surrounds them, putting the entire population of Gotham – and possibly the world – in danger.

Find out what’s streaming this week as well as what’s new on DVD and Blu-ray, including The Tender Bar directed by George Clooney and starring Ben Affleck.
Affleck impresses mightily as Bruce Wayne, but Luthor is a copy of Ledger’s Joker from THE DARK KNIGHT. The Wonder Woman costume is ugly and the film looks like it’s going to be an overwrought mess of CGI much like Snyder’s MAN OF STEEL. And was it really necessary to throw Aquaman into the mix as well? The whole thing smacks of BATMAN & ROBIN excess…
