Ben Affleck to play Batman in Man of Steel sequel

Oscar-winner Ben Affleck will sport Batman’s cape and mask in the Man of Steel sequel slated to release in July 2015. On Thursday, Warner Brothers announced that the 41-year-old actor will be the new addition to the film that brings Superman and Batman on the same screen. According to the studio, Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman and so will a few others from the Man of Steel film, including Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane. Director Zack Snyder, who first revealed the superhero mash-up at Comic-Con in San Diego last month, said in a statement: “(Affleck) has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.” Social media has been exploding with positive, neutral and negative feedbacks since the news broke. The problem with Ben Affleck is that he doesn’t have a strong voice. He is a good actor, but Batman has a deeper manlier voice than Affleck does. If he tries too hard it will sound cheesy. They better get this right or many DC fans will revolt.
I was in shock when I heard the news. I was excited when Zack Snyder said it would happen, but now I don’t know what to think.
First:Is it really Superman VS Batman? That debate is all the rage. Fair fight superpowers and smarts vs wits and seasoned crime figher who’s now aged and was walking with a cane in the last Batman movie…think about it. (if batman cheats and uses Kryptonite then obviously he’d ruin Superman).
Second:If they mean Superman Vs Batman as in different views on crime fighting, Batman wins hands down, at least I thought that until watcing Man Of Steel 4x in theatres and killing Zod does me he has the nerve to do it if needed. But maybe Superman is now more headstrong and determined never to kill someone again=Batman all the way.
As for Affleck playing Batman… example: Does anyone really associate Chris Evans as Jonny Storm anymore? Nope, he was in 2 (count ’em) 2 Fantastic Four movies and I bet you only can picture him at Captain America now. MAYBE this can work for Affleck/Daredevil.
But thinking he’s got the acting chops and athletic skill for it?… I don’t know. Remember he wasn’t up for Best acting Oscar..he won as Director and a screenwriter. Acting was never super strong.
Timeline/the story will be interesting cause Batman retired and went to Europe with Catwoman and he’s got no money and no mansio with a batcave. At least from that multi-billion dollar trilogy which we will all associate Batmans storyline with.
I will reserve judgement until I see it..but for now I’m VERY skeptical.

Ben Affleck is a fine actor in most anything that requires a whimsical/ comedic touch.
Contrarily, he��s not imposing, he��s not intimidating , and he has a goofy expression that doesn��t lend itself to an aged (bat)man with sage wisdom. In other words, he��s simply not suited for this role (the apparent prerequisite for this part). I don��t understand why WB wants to ruin a long-term franchise just to save a buck ��in the short term– skipping over the likes of Bale.
Bale’s majestic BATMAN would be too embarrassed to be seen in a sequel to the crap-tacular that was MAN OF STEEL.

And Chris Ivan’s was amazing human tourch and thats what I had a problem with watching CA all though Chris’s physical appearance change helped him out big time what will Ben have to do other than get into shape (which he won’t) learn how to fight (which sorry Ben you were really more like a robot in Dardevil) I mean this is really all wrong. Also Man of steel did have some missing Elements DC rushing 3 movies into one (Jo’El story, Smallhile story and finally Superman Story) but I still think it was fantastic maybe not amazing but still very good. DC is really walking on thin ICE and not getting Bale at any costs really f’t the franchise but I’m sure they are thinking ahead and protecting JL Bale is a really nice guy but piss him off like Crowe and maybe he might build animosity in JL project. Still Aflec really? C’MON!!
