Ben Kingsley blames his mother

Ben Kingsley says he had a difficult relationship with his mother. The Oscar-winning actor complains it was hard growing up in his family because his mom found it difficult to connect with her children and especially didn’t understand him. He told Live magazine: “To put it in a nutshell, I am an actor, but my childhood was not full of applause. It was applause-less. It was very difficult to read my mother. She had a circuit missing. That made her distant…. Adulthood? Whoa. She couldn’t handle it. Her attitude was difficult to cope with. Fibbing. Showing off. Acting all the time…. It baffles me.” Fibbing? Showing off? Acting? Isn’t that how he earns his living now? Maybe he should be a little more thankful, especially since he admits in the same article that before she died, she admitted that she was proud of him for his talent. The 66-year-old star has four children from marriages that ended in divorce while they were minors, so it would be interesting to hear what his children have to say about his parenting skills as an absentee father.

I hate when people start saying negative things about someone after that person has died. They are no longer here to defend themselves, so let it go! If something negative is to be said, say it when the person is alive and CAN defend themselves!

Agreed, tributegirl. He should have kept his mouth shut. Hardly anyone has a perfect mom and a great childhood. It made him what he is, which is an Oscar winner and wealthy. He should be thanking her. Most actors come from very unstable backgrounds, that’s why they crave the attention.

hes an actor, he is in the spotlight, they want to know about his mother its only right he tell the truth. if thats how she really was, he shouldnt be ashamed to admit it. i also hope he doesnt act that way towards his own kids, gypsy.
I completely agree Mandee,its a terrible thing when a mom can’t hug her kid’s and tell them how much their loved and praise them when they have done something good.Especially when they are in school and bring home pictures and macaroni necklace’s they proudly made for their mom,its sad!!!Mandee baby number 2 born this morning at 11am,mom and Olivia and dad and their 2 other kids are doing great,I’m just sitting here waiting for them to get released,so my son can E-mail me some pictures!!This one was in the oven 1 week longer so according to my son she’s got a tan,LOL.Take Care Mandee!
wow, she certainly took her time coming out gypsy ! 😀 what are her other kids names? i love hearing kids names it helps me try to decide what i want to name mine. actually i have a boys name picked out (just the first name) and i kinda have a girls name picked. the girls name changes all the time lol.

LOL,Mandee thats what happens when you have 3 Dr’s and everyone of them disagree.I guess she was in labour last week but needed a little help,she kept getting sent home and they all told her to come back in a week each one on a different day,she had a dry birth,and is still in hospital,the baby was in distress so they gave her something to bring it on,finally,as of late last night they both were doing fine.Dad’s hoping they can come home today.the oldest boys name is Ethan from her first marriage and the next one is a girl her name is Maddison now Olivia is finally here.What is the names you picked out for your boy and girl?I named my youngest who’s 27 Shanty,she finally found another girl on the net from India who has the same name,it took her 10yrs to find just 1 so far.It means peace in that culture,I never knew that until a month ago,pretty cool eh!!!Take Care!!
i know its probably gross and ppl probably dont want to read it, but whats a dry birth? im glad everyone is doing fine now. they sure have some cute names for babies 🙂 . for a boy i plan on naming him avrey and for a girl, right now, i like breezie. that is pretty cool. i love unique names for babies 😀
Gently speaking,its when the plug comes out,and the fluid that surrounds the baby leaks slowly out,not a good thing to happen!I like both of the names you picked,I’m like you,I love names that are different!!!!

My oldest is keelie roxanne,next named after my mom is doris charlotte next is kimberly ann,next is peter walter (my dads name)next is gordon james and the last is shanty marie.I remember you saying that you had hearing problems,both my boys have only 40% hearing in one ear and 50%to55% in the other.The oldest is 40-55 and the youngest is40-50,I tried to get them to wear hearing aids when they were 4 and 5 but they would throw them down the sewer at school!!They said the kids on the bus teased them so they punched them out and tossed the hearing aids,now gord has tinnitus (miners disease) constant ringing in his ears which can’t be healed.I bet you’ll be much happier when you get used to them,do they know what caused your hearing loss? i like those names, some are a bit too old fashioned for me though ! 🙂 how come your children had hearing loss? they have no explanation for why i have hearing loss. i woke up one day and my ear felt stuffy and like a bug or something was in it and ive been deaf ever since (left ear) that was about, 6 years ago last month, then last year right after my 5 year mark i lost some more hearing in that ear. then, a month after that, i lost hearing in my right ear. my right ear isnt half as bad as my left, they said im 75% deaf for high pitch noises and about 60 for normal noises in my left, my right ear is about 30% deaf so far. both of my ears look 100% healthy, theres no damage or anything that is showing why i cant hear. they have also done numerous MRIS (one with dye) to check my brain and my ear canal and stuff to be sure theres no tumors pressing on anything, cant find a thing. they have come a long way in the making of the hearing aids, they are so small you cant even see them (i have the ones that go behind my ear and over and in). i know how rotten kids can be, i was actually really worried i would be ashamed to wear mine because i dont want anyone i meet in person to know i have hearing probs (considering im only 25!!!) but, you cant see them. the piece that goes inside my ear is clear and you can only see it if youre looking for it. i also have the nonstop ringing in my ears, came with the hearing loss, go figure.

Baby liam has got jaundice,he is in neonatal intensive care.I guess his liver isn’t working properly.His levels are up in the mid 400 range and in 2 days he’d lost 1 and a half pounds,he’s dehydrated and I’ll find out in 2 days if he’ll need a blood transfusion.I told my sons girlfriend after he sent me pictures that he didn’t look good,she had a midwife,didn’t go to hospital.i begged both of them to take him to see a Dr,she got pissed at me and didn’t return my calls!This is my oldest sons first baby,her second and I was told to m.m.o.b,she knew what she was doing.Her midwife came by every 2 days,she said the babe was fine I could see that he wasn’t but she wouldn’t listen to me,I had looked it up on the net,and kept leaving messages on all 3 phones to please take him to the clinic and get a blood test,nobody returned my calls.Now 6 days later the mid wife told her to go to the clinic with the babe,they got a call to take him to the hospital asap.If she had listened to me he wouldn’t be so sick,I’m pretty upset right now,so I’ll tell you about the boys ears when I take my heart meds and calm down .Take Care Mandee,and thanks for listening to my problems.
man, she sounds like a real b*tch. considering you had and raised all healthy children, she should have listened to you in the first place. i wonder how a mother can live with herself after endangering her own childs life? what made her decide to have a midwife? i thought about that for when i have babies but then decided against it because so many things can go wrong. even if you HAVE a midwife after you have the baby you and the baby should go and be checked out by a doctor. its trauma to the both of you and theres no sense in risking either life. man, she sure pis*ed me off. :@ i hope he recovers and is healthy, for your sake not hers! keep me updated, take care.

Mandee,got a call this morning the baby is doing very well,with the treatment they are giving him.Took him of ta-ta milk and are feeding him formula.He has put on a pound in two days,and his bilirubin levels have dropped to 230,he won’t be needing a transfusion thank GOD!!The specialist will be in any time now,he may be able to go home tomorrow.Will let you know after I find out!Take Care,and thanks for your support!!
im glad he is doing better !!! i always hate when little ones are sick ! why would they put him on formula? (is there a specific reason?). that mother is VERY lucky, maybe next time she wont be so quick to ignore warning signs of health problems! take care. keep me updated 😀
Mandee,baby was released this morning.He is doing really good on the formula,put on almost 2lbs.Mom had ta-ta reduction surgery her milk does not have enough nutrients for him.Now olivia is sick,has a touch of jaundice and chest cold.Mom was sick when she had her but they still told her to ta feed,it went through the ta milk and right into babe.They took her back to hospital and she’s 5lb 8oz lost a pound and starting to dehydrate,shes now on formula,hopefully she’ll start to get better.I told mom to go clinic and get some antibiotics so the babe will not get any sicker.The health care system is going down hill really bad,doctors don’t have time for their patients anymore!You Take Care! I hope your getting used to the hearing aids?
glad liam is out and doing better ! im sure olivia will recover just as quickly (well, perhaps not of the cold!). i agree with you, doctors suck! i hope she gets better soon. the hearing aids SUCK, they actually hurt (like when you wear headphones too long). i have a job interview today at another dead end job, sucks to be me ! hope everything goes all right and hope youre doing well. take care.

Mandee,I think it s gonna take awhile for your ears to adjust to the hearing aids.Didn’t the doctor tell you that it may cause swelling and pain in the ear for awhile?You don’t keep them in 24-7 do you?Did you go for that job interview,what type of job is it?Why didn’t they let you go to school to be a PSW worker,I believe you’d be a good one cuz you have all the qualities to be a compassionate,caring person,which is what all people need.There’s very few around nowadays,thats for sure.I believe Nancy said she was taking a break for awhile,that was a couple of months ago.TG came on for a few days but she’s probably busy with the kids,I’m just guessing on both though,I hope their both doing good!!Let me know what happened at the job interview OK.You Take Care.
gypsy, they didnt tell me anything at all about the hearing aids, just to wear them. i usually wear them from when i wake up in the morning (which is now 1030am) until about 10 or 11pm. i take them out off and on through out the day though because its hard being able to hear after not being able to hear for so many years. causes all kinds of fun things, headaches, earaches (inside and out) and its making me irritated lol. yes i went to that job interview, i will hear back in a few days he said (so probably didnt get it!) i didnt get into PSW class because the woman didnt like me and said i wasnt “goal driven” enough for her. it was because i seemed “unsure” that was what i wanted. the thing is, its not what i want. i wanted to do it so i could work for a year or 2 and save up as much as i can (its 21 an hour in nursing homes in peterborough) and go back to school. also, it was going to give me 7 credits towards my high school diploma (i mentioned once before that i had my high school bc nancy was telling me im dumb, but i really dont, dropped out when i was 16). but, i am doing an anthropology, sociology and psychology class right now, all i need is 2 credits (counting the one im doing!) so i should be done that soon. the class i REALLY want to take (in case you want to check it out) is at george brown college in toronto the class is called assaulted womens and childrens counsellor/advocate. you can basically just google the name of the class and it will bring you to that school so you can read about it (thats the only school that offers it) and i could work in abused womens shelters or rape crisis centres and things like that.
how is the baby by the way? is she doing any better? im about to head off to bed for the night (really tired, been trying to get myself more active its too easy to become lazy with no job, so ive been using an exercise bike the last week and its makin me tired lol). tell me how your day has been, and i hope youre right and nancy and TG are all right. take care !

Mandee I’m glad you got the job,it may not be what you want but its a start.I googled the name of that course that you want to get into,it sounds like a very interesting subject.There are never enough counsellors for woman or children in need,especially in those areas.I really hope you will finish your courses even if you already have that job,cuz I believe you should follow your dreams and be happy to get up each day and go to work.I’m happy to say that both Liam and Olivia are doing a hell of a lot better thank GOD.So how was your first day at work? You never did say what the job was,I hope its not a heavy lifting type job,especially in this heat.I’m a snow baby,love the fall and mostly the winter,this heat is unbearable for me.I stay in my bedroom all the time,thats where the air conditioner is, its a cool 50 degrees in there.I don’t know how you can exercise in this weather,I really need to start walking,I have to go on the 25Th for a treadmill-persolite test on my heart,so not looking forward to doing it.They make you sign a paper stating that you understand that it could bring on a heart-attack and perhaps death,I’ve been putting it off for 2 years now,I wonder why lol.Mandee let me know how your job went OK.You Take Care!!!
my job is good so far. its another country style job 🙁 but i really like the women i am working with and next week i have 30 hours. i already worked 2 days (and one day i had to stay 40 mins late bc another girl quit). i have to finish 2 more classes before i can apply for the assaulted womens and childrens counselor program. im almost half done one class.
im so glad the babies are doing well !!! thats great news ! i like all weather mainly. we have air conditioning though lmao so it helps with the heat ! 😛 central air. good luck with the treadmill, i wouldnt go either if they made me sign that paper, lol. im sure everything will be fine 🙂 take care!
