Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray CyrusIn a TV interview yesterday with Today show anchor Meredith Vieira, Billy Ray Cyrus commented for the first time on his 15-year-old daughter Miley’s semi-nude photo shoot for Vanity Fair. “I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket,” Cyrus said. “I was surprised when I saw it.”  He explained why he wasn’t present for the entire shoot: “I didn’t have any choice. I had a show to do, and an obligation, to go to Washington state. Looking back at it, if I could’ve stayed, I would have.” He laughed off suggestions that some of the photos of him with Miley seemed more like a boyfriend and girlfriend rather than a father and daughter, saying, “I’m sorry if I offended somebody but that’s just a daddy that loves his daughter a whole lot. We both love acting, we love making music, and we love each other. I’m her dad and she’s my daughter. If a daddy hasn’t hugged his daughter recently, I recommend he does.”

Ya, well, this pic looks…ummmm….DIFFERENT than a daddy loving and hugging his daughter!!

First of all ya this picture of them is a little in appropriate…and second even if he couldn’t be at the shoot I’m pretty sure she can open her mouth and say something…her father can’t be there for the rest of her life…telling her what to do or what not to do…she’s a big girl now and if she didn’t want to take off her clothes she should have spoken up…

The reason this picture looks strange might have something to do with her positioned between on his crotch, with one arm over his thigh. Good southern daddy daughter love

Personaly I think people really need to stop looking so far into things… all this picture is showing is a daughter looking for her daddys sholder to cry on… no girl or women that has a close relationship with their father can say that they havent ever leand on or looked for comfortfrom their daddy after a bad day or something I sure know I have… It’s a father daughter baund there is no harm in that…

I came onto Tribute and clicked on this article. My 11 year old daughter(who is a fan of Miley) was sitting next to me. She saw this photo and immediately gasped and said “what the heck?”

I am very close to my father, but I have NEVER been in any position like this with him! A dad hugging his daughter is fine, but this is just way too weird.

maybe thats what the magazine was looking for, suggestive so people would but it and read the article? because with how high priced some of these magazines are these days, you NEED a reason to buy them. personally, i dont see anything wrong with the pics, its not like someone at their house took them, they were taken in a studio where they were told how to pose. also, about the one of her in the sheet? maybe she wanted to do it and just used the excuse that her dad wasnt there and that she was afraid to say anything so that she COULD use it to try and get away from her hannah montana image?
