Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Iranian pop star Andy Madadian have gotten together to record the Ben E. King song “Stand By Me” in Farsi to show solidarity with the Iranian people who are protesting the results of the recent elections. According to the producers, “This version of the old Ben E. King classic is not for sale — it’s not meant to be on the Billboard charts or even pressed as a CD…it’s intended to be downloaded and shared by the Iranian people. To give voice to the sentiment that all people of the world stand together.. In fact, the handwritten Farsi sign in the video translates to ‘we are one.’”

Wonderful rendition…love Bon Jovi, saw them last year in concert for the first time…good for them voicing their view in such a violent turn of events re election…I’m sure their support speaks volumes…
