Brad Pitt’s mother writes anti-gay marriage letter

By Tribute News on July 6, 2012 | 9 Comments

Angelina Jolie with Jane Pitt Brad Pitt's mother Jane Pitt has "Christian" views on abortion and gay marriage. The showbiz matriarch - whose son Brad is one of the most vocal supporters of gay rights in Hollywood - has written a letter to her local newspaper the News-Leader in Springfield, Missouri, urging people to vote for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, due to him being a "family man with high morals." She also hits out at US President Barack Obama because he supports the "killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage." She wrote: "I am ... a Christian and differ with the Mormon religion. But I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon. Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney's opponent, Barack Hussein Obama - a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright's church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage." Brad - who is engaged to Angelina Jolie - has previously taken part in a play about gay rights alongside George Clooney, and hinted he would not marry the actress until all Americans, including homosexuals, have the right to wed.

So ignorant. If she had a clue she’d vote Ron Paul.

Anybody from America’s south is a HILLBILLY with REDNECK values. She should remember this quote. Do not judge lest ye shall be judged.

Good for her. She has a right to her beliefs and no one should deny her the right to voice them. And MovieGoer, if you’re looking for ignorant people, how about MetalHead, saying anyone from America’s south is a hillybilly and a redneck? Generalize much? And if you read the bible, the quote about Judge not lest ye be judged (you got it wrong) means only judge people if you are sure that you’re not doing what you’re judging. Meaning, if you smoke, don’t judge smokers. Otherwise, everyone judges. If you don’t know that, you don’t know reality.

Some Americans are so weird and backwards, often due to lack of education. I wonder how her hairdresser would think of this? 🙂

America should not be allowed to be called “The Home of the Free”! Free my arse! With idiots like her, how is open discrimination and public predujuce constatute a free society? America is going backwards when it comes to freedom and human rights, it won’t be long before they become slaves to the corporations and reigious right and free thought dies.

Marriage is, and has been for millennia, the institution that forms and upholds for society, the
cultural and social values and symbols related to procreation. That is, it establishes the
values that govern the transmission of human life to the next generation and the nurturing of
that life in the basic societal unit, the family. Through marriage our society marks out the
relationship of two people who will together transmit human life to the next generation and
nurture and protect that life. By institutionalizing the relationship that has the inherent capacity
to transmit life that between a man and a woman marriage symbolizes and engenders
respect for the transmission of human life.

To change the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples would destroy its capacity
to function in the ways outlined above, because it could no longer represent the inherently
procreative relationship of opposite-sex pair-bonding. It would be to change the essence
and nature of marriage as the principal societal institution establishing the norms that govern
procreation. Marriage involves public recognition of the spouses relationship and commitment to each other.
But that recognition is for the purpose of institutionalizing the procreative
relationship in order to govern the transmission of human life and to protect and promote the
well-being of the family that results. It is not a recognition of the relationship just for its own
sake or for the sake of the partners to the marriage, as it would necessarily become were
marriage to be extended to include same-sex couples.

Geez, she is so close-minded, and so ignorant. Who cares who marries who? Everyone deserves to be happy.

How about this…. perfect the 10 commandments first.

Or perfect George Carlin’s 10 commandments.
(click on my name to watch it)

Read the Bible again. I think you may have missed the point…

please don’t use the marriage is for procreating, there are way too many straight people who are procreating but are beating their kids and spouses, or you have the children born out of wedlock, single parents. Gay people are just as capable of loving and caring for someone as straight people. Marriage is really about love and commitment to the other person for the rest of their lives.
