Bridget Jones’s Baby trailer reveals spicy new details

The official trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby released today and we now know a lot of new details about the upcoming third movie in the series! Although it was assumed Bridget (Renée Zellweger) and Mark (Colin Firth) were getting married (he proposed and she accepted) in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, it looks like they never made it to the altar.

Bridget is still single, and she’s met a new man! Who better than “McDreamy” a.k.a. Patrick Dempsey as her new lover, Jack. However, just after she has a intimate session with Jack, she and Mark also hook up. And guess what — she’s pregnant. Bridget never could stay out of trouble – as she says, “I can’t go back and keep making the same mistakes — when I can make new ones!”

Now, as she wonders who the father could be, both men try their best to woo her. We even see them both carrying (yes, you read that right — carrying) her to the hospital. There are tons of funny moments, including when she brings both men to what appears to be a Lamaze class. Check out Colin Firth’s face when the instructor says, “Lovely. You’re our second same sex couple today!”

Emma Thompson also adds hilarity to the trailer as Bridget’s obstetrician, who advises her, “Do bring along the father — if you can work out which one he is.” And then she laughs. In fact, she has quite a bit of fun with Bridget’s situation — as we are all sure to do as well when Bridget Jones’s Baby hits the big screen September 16, 2016.  ~Alexandra Heilbron
