Bryan Ferry marries his son’s ex

Bryan Ferry, former frontman of the English rock band Roxy Music, has tied the knot for a second time with 29-year-old Amanda Sheppard. So how did the 66-year-old meet his new lady love? They first met in 2009 when Sheppard was dating one of Ferry’s sons. Luckily it was just a fling because she and senior Sheppard instantly hit it off. “You never meet people your own age who aren’t married. Unless they are divorcees knocking about, that sort of thing,” Sheppard said in the Telegraph about the stark age difference. The pair held a small ceremony at a luxury resort on the island of Turks and Caicos.
Ferry enjoyed a successful music career throughout the 70s and 80s. He then made a not-so-triumphant return to headlines in 2007 when he inadvertedly praised the imagery and iconography of the Nazi regime in a German newspaper and compared his London studio to Hitler’s World War II bunker. Although he later apologized for his comments, the controversy led to Ferry losing his modelling contract with British retailer Marks and Spencer, as well as some serious backlash from the media. On a more positive note, the singer/songwriter released a new solo album in 2010 entitled Olympia and was recently honored with the title of Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
