Carly Rae Jepsen’s age may surprise you

Carly Rae Jepsen’s catchy single “Call Me Maybe” was the biggest hit of the summer. She’s often linked to teen pop star Justin Bieber because she has a recording deal with Schoolboy Records, the label run by Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun. They’re also both from Canada. Interestingly, “Call Me Maybe” was the first song by a Canadian artist to reach the top of the digital chart since Justin’s hit single “Baby” in January 2010. And when Carly Rae made her American TV debut on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, she was joined by Justin. That may be why most people assume she’s in her teens. She told New York Magazine‘s Vulture she doesn’t mind when fans are surprised to learn her real age, which is 26, saying, “It’s extremely flattering. What woman doesn’t want to hear that she looks younger?” Carly Rae is set to go on tour with Bieber for his Believe tour, and she’s looking forward to it. “I’m really stoked. I love his album, and I know his whole crew of people and they’ve definitely become like family to me, so it’s going to be good.”
