Channing Tatum was ‘terrified’ of Beyonce

Channing TatumChanning Tatum admits performing with Beyoncé was the “most terrifying things” he’s ever done.

The hunk, 35, thrilled audiences and stunned wife Jenna Dewan Tatum – who he was competing against – when he was joined by the singing superstar for his “Run the World (Girls)” routine on Lip Sync Battle but he originally only intended to just use a cardboard cut out of the “Crazy in Love” hitmaker.

He recalled: “I won’t even tell you what I had to do to essentially get her assistant’s phone number.

“I didn’t even have the intention of her coming … I wanted to bring like a cardboard cutout of Beyoncé out, just to be funny, and then ultimately I ended up having to meet Beyoncé doing Beyoncé and that was definitely the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done.”

Channing and Beyoncé didn’t rehearse together and didn’t even speak to one another before the performance.

Referring to Kevin Spacey‘s mysterious alter ego in The Usual Suspects, he told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview airing yesterday:

”She’s like Keyser Söze. You know she exists, but you never see her until all of a sudden, you’re just like, ‘It happened, wait that was her, right?'”

And Beyoncé left immediately afterwards, but later texted the Hateful Eight actor to say she’d love to meet up with him and his wife, who have two-year-old daughter Everly together.

He added: “I said, ‘Hi!’ And she goes, ‘Hey, that was really funny. See ya!’ But she did text afterwards and she was like, ‘Hey I would love to meet you guys and hang out when you’re not looking like me and so terrifying.'”
