Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth stole away our hearts with his blond locks and impressive physique as mighty superhero Thor, but he came close to losing the role to his younger brother Liam Hemsworth. In a recent interview with W magazine, Chris revealed that he'd auditioned for the role, but didn't get it. However, Liam was among five final contenders for the role, but it was finally decided that "none of them were quite right." Chris recalled: "My manager said, 'If you liked Liam, maybe you'll also like his older brother.'" He admitted that he'd been starstruck during his first audition for director Kenneth Branagh, who's famous for his roles in Shakespeare productions, but when he was called in again for the role, "This time, I was pissed off. I didn't care about Shakespeare anymore; swagger got me the part."

Good that they gave him another shot. Liam wouldn't have been half as good, he's not really a lead character, he's better in a supporting role. Chris on the other hand, is a star!

Why do people get acting roles just because their brother, sister, father, mother is/was an actor?? Acting in Hollywood isn't something people are just "entitled" to or should inherit. Acting colleges are full of people whose greatest hope is to get a shot at a big chance to get there. I'd like to see that "entitlement" trend stop.
