Christian Bale, 38, may have hung up his Batman cape, but that hasn't stopped the actor from continuing his reign as hero. Just last week the Dark Knight star called Zach Grey, an eight-year-old leukemia patient and Batman fanatic, on the phone. During the conversation the young boy seemed shy, but who wouldn't be a little tongue tied when speaking with their idol? Zach proceeded to tell Christian that he has his own costume and pretends to be Batman, adding that his younger brother is convinced he's the real thing. Christian laughed and explained he wasn't so lucky. “They wouldn't let me keep mine. You’re lucky, you get to have one to run around and tell people you are Batman.” Christian assured Zach he would tell Catwoman and Bane, portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, about their conversation. “Even though he was not a good guy in the film, the man who played him is a very good guy. I’ll tell him…and the director as well,” Christian said, ending the conversation by telling the young boy, “Thanks for carrying the torch and keeping on playing Batman, okay?” ~Brittnee Fleming

Bale is one stand up guy. Doing great things with his fame. Like actual live and not just symbolic things. He's not standing behind a chritable organization and letting his name or a quick appearance at a function make him look like a good guy. He's actually calling sick kids or showing up at hospitals and actually talking to people. Way to go. Stock is all time high.
What a sweet gesture for Christian Bale to do. It is probably only took a few minutes for him to do, but for the kid that idolizes him what a dream! It is nice that some people are so compassionate. Good for you, Christian!
A great actor and a good hearted human being.
Very cool of him!
