Christian Bale tried to have a fan murdered

Perhaps Christian Bale identifies with his American Psycho character a little too much. The Dark Knight Rises star’s former publicist, Harrison Cheung, who worked for years with Bale but was never paid, has released a book about his time with the British actor that paints a very disturbing picture of him. Although the Academy Award winner’s anger problems have been no secret to the public, the book depicts a shocking temperament — including the fact that Bale once ordered a fan be murdered after getting too close to his personal life. When a fan letter arrived at his home on Manhattan Beach, Bale feared the fan may be stalking him and sent a fax to Cheung urging him to murder the admirer, saying, “Better to be safe than sorry, a screwdriver thrust through the eyeball into the brain prevents any screaming. Let me know how it goes.” The book also details his distaste for being confronted by fans, saying he would lecture little girls who approached his table about being rude until they cried and their parents were forced to yank them away. I think he definitely has a macabre sense of humor. I doubt he was being serious. But then, I don’t know him and this guy did.
Someone didn’t get paid as a celebrity publicist? Intern maybe? Well, with these stories, someone is getting paid now. Too bad Bale is going to pay big time.
