Writer-director Christopher Nolan has officially started principal photography for Interstellar in Alberta, according to an announcement made yesterday by Warner Bros. and Paramount. Based on a script co-written by Nolan’s brother Jonathan, the film “chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.” The three-time Oscar-nominated director has assembled a star-studded cast for the film, including Jessica Chastain, Matthew McConaughey, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, John Lithgow and Casey Affleck. Also set to reteam with Nolan for the film are The Dark Knight alum Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine. Interstellar is scheduled for an IMAX and 35mm release on November 7, 2014. ~Alfonso Espina
