Daniel Craig ready to reprise role as James Bond

Daniel Craig to sign on to play Bond one more time.Bond is back, and it looks like it’s Daniel Craig — again. After bookies have been speculating as to who could take on the famous role in Daniel’s absence, it seems all bets are off after multiple sources confirm to Page Six that the actor has signed on to play James Bond one last time for the upcoming film currently titled Bond 25, despite his saying in 2015 that “I’d rather…slash my wrists…I’m over it at the moment” due to the stress of filming Spectre.

Apparently, the decision came after the success of his off-Broadway production of Othello, which was produced by James Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli. It seems the kudos he received from the play were enough to get him back into talks with Barbara about returning as James Bond.

A Hollywood source explained, “Daniel was very pleased with how ‘Othello’ went and the great reviews. Now Daniel’s talks with Barbara are going in the right direction. They have a script — screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing and they’ll go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit.”

Speculation was looming that, in addition to other actors like Jack Huston, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston was a top contender to take over the role, but it seems his summer romp with Taylor Swift and self-satisfying Golden Globes acceptance speech rubbed Barbara and the other producers the wrong way and took him out of the running. The source says, “Barbara Broccoli doesn’t like Tom Hiddleston, he’s a bit too smug and not tough enough to play James Bond.”

No release date for the next installment in the Bond franchise has been confirmed.

I’m glad because I don’t like any of the actors that mentioned so far.

I’d like to see someone else play the part. Not a Craig fan.

Say, Idris Alba was the James Bond front runner, but you deliberately left him out because he is black. Newsflash: people are tired of racism – in this case, covert racism via omission. Please stop it.

Daniel Craig is a smart option . Great actor , great skills , and this role is pure British role . Action combined with conspiracy ; is a very demanding role and Mr Craig did
a professional job despite being not accepted by the James Bond fans at the beginning when he played in Casino Royale . Love the actor and I am happy that he will
be involved in a new movie .

Great. He is a very good bond.

He’s a great Bond so it’s a huge sigh of relief to hear he’s coming back. Also, to the person who asserted people are “tired” of racism, have you heard who’s running the United States??? LOL!

I think he still has a show or two in him. Certainly has kept in good shape to do another movie and still looking youthful enough. But is everything now settled and he’s definitely made his decision or is there still going to be another merry-go-round of who is it going to be? If this is definite then let’s get on with it and make a movie.

I am glad Daniel Craig will be back as Bond. He is a great Bond

He has been my favourite Bond so far so I am happy to see him back.

By the way Zennie it’s Elba not Alba. Just because his name isn’t mentioned, doesn’t mean it’s racism….

He was a great Bond…still is. But they breathed new life into the franchise by shaking things up with a blonde Bond. I was hoping they’d do it again with Idris Elba. If Barbara didn’t like Hiddleson cause he’s not tough enough and too smug, then Idris is the exact opposite and a fantastic actor.

I’m thrilled! He’s my favourite BOND

Just my opinion, but I think Craig is the best Bond ever. I’m so glad he’s returning.

Thrilled. Craig is an amazing Bond.

But should he finally stop, I’m hoping for Idris Alba as the next Bond.

I am delighted to hear that he will play Bond one more time. He’s been my favourite James Bond so far for sure .

Tom hiddleston is sn amazing actor broccoli obviously not knows his work his gg dpeech was hunble and sweet he is not a hollywood phony so tougher to get tons of big roles idris alba would be a joke!! Btoccolli must have been a clinton fan and gojng straight on stale pc mode to mention him…. Tom is the only choice he becomes his characters he creates them … Loki is THE best cinematic creation …. I never was a bond fan too shallow… But for yom who would rsise it to worthy level i would be… Too smug… Shes nuts… Not tough enough… shes more nuts….tom is our best actor of todsy … Bond was not written to be black… We gonna have a white Shaft????
