David Beckham underwear statue now in Canada

By Tribute on September 20, 2012 | 7 Comments

If you’ve ever dreamed of seeing soccer heartthrob David Beckham in his underwear, now’s your chance — well, kind of. In a racy new marketing campaign for Beckham’s new Bodywear line exclusive to H&M, the clothing chain has put up statues of the star, wearing nothing but a pair of briefs, in three Canadian H&M stores: the Toronto Eaton Centre, the Pacific Centre in Vancouver and the St. Catherine St./ Peel St. location in Montreal. Beckham is no stranger to almost baring it all. The shiny metal statues, each standing 10 feet tall, were previously displayed in London, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco following the release of photos featuring Beckham wearing only his skivvies to promote his debut collection, which includes men’s briefs, boxers, vests, T-shirts, pyjamas and long johns. New pieces will be added to the collection this fall. If you’d like to see the man in all his glory, you’d better hurry because they’ll only be on display till Sunday.

It looks like they “padded” it a bit….

I really don’t see why everyone thinks he’s so good looking. I’ve seen better! A giant 10-foot statue of George Clooney…now THAT I’d go out of my way to see. Who’s with me?!?

It seems narcissistic, and downright comedic considering Canada’s climate. Our Canadian bits know enough to hide inside our bodies when it gets cold; Beckhams bits — on the other hand — will freeze and snap-off.

Why wasn’t this your lead story?!?!

I know someone who would love to see this in person. Rather, I used to know someone…
