Dexter’s Michael C. Hall diagnosed with cancer

Michael C. Hall, the hero of the series Dexter, has been diagnosed with cancer. Us magazine reported this week that the actor’s cancer was discovered at a stage where a cure is possible, and is now receiving treatments for Hodgkin’s lymphoma at  a Los Angeles hospital. According to Hall’s rep, Craig Bankey, the disease is in remission and Hall is following treatment as planned. The illness won’t stop the actor from attending the Golden Globes on Sunday (January 17). He plans to show up with his Dexter co-star/wife, Jennifer Carpenter. Hall is nominated for his role as Dexter Morgan in the popular series. He’ll begin filming the fifth season later this year. ~Patricia Gougeon

   I am really happy to hear it is in remission, but I am sure he went through quite an ordeal over the months since being diagnosed…

   I love the show Dexter, it is soooo good. Very glad they caught the cancer in time. Thank God.

   Terrible news! But as well very good it is in remission. One of my absolute favorite shows ever! I hope he takes the golden globe!

   Its a real kick in the head when you’re diagnosed with Hodgkins or any cancer. I am a survivor and after going through hell with the treatments I have been in remission for over 16yrs. Follow the regiment, its no picknick but it is manageable and you can beat it. I am witness to that fact. ..I can’t say for sure natural methods work but I took anything and everything…available…it can’t hurt to strengthen your immune system to combat the chemo & radiation. Stay positive and stay strong. Your show is great …best regards…

   Yes, Dave is absolutely Right. You will beat this disease. At least it seems so. THE most Important thing is Stay Positive above all else. I’ve never heard of advise like this but I’ve learned it: but keep your emotions at an even tempo/keel. Neither too much laughter nor not enough(keep them on an even level most of the time according to How You Feel). For example, Don’t rent a movie that will make you laugh too much throughout and DON’T rent one that is too dramatic! Nowadays thats hard to do, so maybe rent ones from the past. Not too hilariouus and not too boring/too much action….

   dave, it’s always reassuring to hear from people like yourself who have battled cancer successfully and enjoyed many years beyond that. My heart goes out to you and to anyone who has suffered both the disease and the treatments. I can’t even imagine the ordeal you have all experienced. I have a friend who went through Hodgkins about 10 years back, beat it, suffered a setback and beat it again. Good luck to you and may you enjoy many more years in best of health.

    thanks for the comment jo! everythings actually GREAT !! i was tested for liver disease (had some things off when they did blood work and stuff after surgery) they took 10 vials of blood, i had to wait 2 months for the results. they just came in, everythings back to normal, no disease, no problems im healthy and well 😀 hope everything is well with your health and family. thanks for the concern! oh sheesh, is that considered me “whining” because i told you what they thought was wrong with me and then because i told you it turns out im actually healthy and the weird blood results were simply because my body hadnt healed yet from surgery? hmmm, lemme know what you think jo.

    also, Michael C. Hall was amazing last night on the awards show, very gracious acceptance speech and was thrilled to see he won! Good job!

    i never saw it, im glad he won as well. hes amazing, i also like his wife (the one who plays deb) i think they are both talented and they make the entire hour of dexter worth every minute.

    haha have to wait 8-10 weeks for the board of health to OK it for them to take my teeth out. guess youre stuck with me (and my teeth) for a while yet nancy ! 🙂
