Director David Fincher drops Angelina Jolie’s Cleopatra

By Tribute on August 26, 2012 | 4 Comments

Joining the ranks of Avatar director James Cameron and The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass, David Fincher, director of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has become the latest to drop out of Angelina Jolie‘s Cleopatra project, after signing on over a year ago. Fincher is also the director behind three of her hubby Brad Pitt‘s films: Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which makes his exit from the project that much more surprising. Jolie has wanted to pursue this film since late 2010, and with NBC about to air a series on the Egyptian Queen, being left behind by yet another big name director speaks volumes. Hopefully, her latest project, Disney‘s Maleficent will be enough to hold her over, as it has recently been revealed it will also feature her daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. ~Morgan Bates

Brad Pitt isn’t Angelina Jolie’s hubby. He’s her fiancee.

Just cause he worked with Pitt on 3 movies doesn’t equate to anything with Angelina.
Yeah Fincher should do the next ‘Girl’ movie. That one was pretty decent flick.
Maybe with a Cleopatra mini series on NBC and with that bio flick on Liz Taylor (which I’m srue will incorporate Liz’s Cleo movie), this will just be a saturation of Cleopatra..suggest wait a couple years.
