Dirty Dancing remake delayed

By Tribute on June 13, 2012 | 4 Comments

The Dirty Dancing remake, which was set to be released on July 26, 2013, is being put on hold until 2014. According to Lionsgate, the delay is due to casting reasons. While many question doing a reboot of the beloved classic, the remake may turn out to be a pleasant surprise due to the great team working on it. The choreographer of the original film, Kenny Ortega (also responsible for films such as Michael Jackson’s This Is It and High School Musical), will be both choreographing and directing this movie. The team also includes co-creator of Glee, Brad Falchuk, and Monte Carlo screenwriter Maria Maggenti. Considerations for the leads (originally played by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey) include Glee actress Lea Michele and young Canadian singer Nikki Yanofsky for the female lead, and Brothers & Sisters actor Luke Grimes and Dancing with the Stars’ Derek Hough for the male lead. ~Stacy Raivich

Well this will be a mistake. Just like the footloose remake. Dear Film Stuidos, maybe you should try doing original ideas, instead of ruining old original classics.

REALLY?! Screw u execs. Dirty Dancing is a classic and this is not right. Get some original ideas! Besides, the actors in consideration dont even look like the perfect people to play Baby and Johnny. Derek Hough?! Lea Michelle?! Nicki Y-the hell are you famous?! (I dont know her name so Im calling her that.) Patrick Swazye is probably rolling in his grave because of this. R.I.P to him.
