George Clooney doesn’t think there’s any point trying to ”fight” aging.
The 54-year-old Hollywood star, who married Lebanese-British lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 37, last year, has argued that men who dye their hair and have plastic surgery usually make themselves look even older than they are.
The Tomorrowland actor explained: ”I think for all of us, you have to come to terms with getting older and not trying to fight it. You have a couple of options – which is get older or die. And so you have to get used to that idea that your roles in films and who you are and how you’re perceived is going to change. That will disappoint people at times.”
Asked if he’d ever considered cosmetic surgery or dyeing his hair, Clooney told BBC Radio 4: ”Clearly I haven’t. For me it’s never been an issue or an option. I don’t think it would make much sense quite honestly. I’ve seen it happen – particularly on men – I don’t think it really works, I think it actually makes you look older. I’m a big believer in the idea that you can’t try to look younger. You just have to look the best you can at the age you are.”
I disagree. Both end there are extremes. Today is my 65 birthday. I was at a restaurant birthday dinner last night. After the wait staff sang happy birthday I said ‘it is the BIG one’ – they said ‘oh, are you 50’ When I said, “No, I’m 65” all 5 of the staff members looked extremely shocked. I have had no plastic surgery – use no anti aging beauty products…but I do dye my hair. They all thought I was 50…even though my daughters 37 and 29 were sitting there with me – of course they were not told ‘these are my daughters’.
So, a little help of hair dye is worth it… But I agree – No plastic surgery!!!
I agree, dying your hair is the best thing someone with gray hair can do. Gray hair makes people look old. As soon as they dye it, they look 10 years younger. I don’t have to yet, but when my hair goes gray, I’m definitely dying it!
