Dwayne Johnson has surgery following wrestling injury

By Tribute on April 24, 2013 | 3 Comments

Dwayne Johnson, star of the movie Pain & Gain, underwent hernia surgery Monday night. Johnson, also known as The Rock, originally sustained an abdominal injury during a Wrestlemania fight against John Cena on April 7. After the match, Johnson tweeted that he tore his “abdomen & abductor muscles off the bone,” saying it was “just part of the job.” Johnson continued to train and further aggravated the injury. He finally went to his doctor, who pushed Johnson’s intestines back through the tear in his abdomen and scheduled surgery. Johnson had the operation Monday, missing the Los Angeles premiere of Pain & Gain as a result. Fortunately for the actor, the procedure was successful and he is now recovering at home. At the premiere, director Michael Bay apologized for The Rock’s absence and said Johnson, 40, “needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound men.” Hopefully, Johnson will be ready in time to shoot his next movie role as Hercules in Hercules: The Thracian Wars. ~Cassie Jasinski

Michael Bay needs to stop apologizing for others and start apologizing for himself.

He should grow up. Wrestling is entertainment for the dumbest of dumb.

I agree, he needs to grow up. He’s moved on to movies. Wrestling was his past but the WWE still wants him because he’s so well-known. Plus he’s getting old, so yeah, break no more bones!
