Emma Watson helps with hurricane relief

The Perks of being a Wallflower star Emma Watson took some time out of her busy schedule to help out with a Hurricane Sandy relief effort. The 22-year-old star volunteered alongside celebrity chef Sandra Lee and ex-CNN anchor Paula Zahn to assist the charity Citymeals-on-Wheels, which was delivering meals to elderly citizens in Manhattan and its five surrounding boroughs who were unable to leave their homes because of the storm. Watson has recently been working alongside Russell Crowe in Manhattan for the filming of Darren Aronofsky’s newest project, Noah. Crowe will be playing the title role in this movie, which is based on the biblical tale of a man commanded by God to gather animals onto an Ark in preparation for a monumental storm — so it’s only fitting that the actor helped out by making a donation of his own to the “NYC Mayors Fund and the plant a million trees fund.” ~Brandon Bastaldo
