Emma Watson has split from her boyfriend. The Noah actress and Oxford University student Matthew Janney, 22, went their separate ways a month ago but have agreed to remain friends. It is believed the couple split after a year of dating because of the 24-year-old beauty’s hectic work schedule.

A spokesperson for Emma confirmed the ”amicable” split to the Daily Mail. The news comes a few months after the ‘Harry Potter’ star was seen moving out of her London home with the help of the rugby player, sparking speculation they were moving in together.

The pair were assisted by professional movers and as they loaded her furniture, including rugs, cooking pots and chairs, into a moving truck. An eyewitness said at the time: ”The couple was very affectionate as they moved items. At one point Matthew wrapped his arms around Emma and kissed her.”

The brunette beauty previously admitted she prefers to date regular guys rather than fellow actors and tries her best to ”protect” them as she believes its ”unfair” for them to be forced into the public eye. She recently said: ”I don’t date people who are famous. ”I don’t think it’s fair that, all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me. I wish I could protect them.”
