Garrett Hedlund refuses to use social media as he wants to retain some privacy. The Country Strong actor - who is in a relationship with Kirsten Dunst - has never had a Facebook, Twitter or MySpace account and has just three followers on his secret Instagram profile, but prefers not to engage with the world via the internet in order to protect himself. He said: ''The industry can be very small sometimes. I think the only way to keep even the smallest amount of privacy is to just not participate.'' The 29-year-old star always does his best to appreciate his good fortune and try not to focus too much on anything negative. He told the new issue of Flaunt magazine: ''Every once in a while we remember that life is short, and to appreciate the time with your friends and family, and to be open to have beautiful exciting moments in your days and stop worrying about what's pulling you down.''
