Gilmore Girls may get TV movie

Lauren Graham of Gilmore GirlsAmy Sherman-Palladino, creator and writer of the long-running series Gilmore Girls, told TV Guide Online that she’d like to make a Gilmore Girls TV movie to wrap up all the loose ends from the series. She says she’d penned the four final words, but did not get to use them when she did not return for the final season due to contract conflicts. Lauren Graham, who starred as Lorelai Gilmore, says she would return for the movie “just to get the four final words out of Amy. They torture me.”

I would love to see that movie but it would have to include the original cast especially the Paris character

The four final words? “We jumped the shark.”

Don’t get too excited. I read this info first in TV Guide Online (Michael Ausiello’s interview with ASP at the FOX Network Upfronts). Didn’t believe it then and I still don’t.
ASP is just using this story to garner publicity because her new show is not generating any on its own (it kind sucks).

Besides, I think the whole 4 words think is a myth generated by ASP for publicity. The first time she told the story it was the Last 2 words, then the next couple of time it was the last 4 words and in one interview it was the last 4 lines. She can’t even keep her story straight!!

Besides, I’d be VERY WORRIED if ASP penned another GG story. While I give her high marks for character development and skills in dialogue creation, the woman write really bad plots. Her story lines have more holes than Swiss Cheese.

Good, I’ve felt they should have carried the show, at least one more episode, just to see Lauren in a wedding dress.

While I would love to see “something” to tie up all the storylines of the series properly, be it a TV movie or some other special, I totally agree with KIM regarding ASP.
First she should not have abandoned her show the way she did, on the pretext that the studio would not give her a 2-year contract. At that stage shows are renewed on a one year basis. I think she needed the second year because she signed up David Sutcliffe for 14 episodes to do that horrible Lorelai/Christopher storyline she brought on and she knew she could not wrap it up and bring the Lorelai/Luke story back on track (her endgame) by the end of Season 7. Although there are L/C shippers, they are a minority and L/C was never the endgame it was brought on for “drama” and drama it was and then some as it turned into a complete disaster.

Also, the TV movie would have to deal with wrapping up the stories of Lorelai and Luke and Lorelai and her relationship with her parents and I don’t trust ASP when it comes to writing something really romantic or intimate between these two characters. This combined with the fact that Lauren Graham seems to think that Scott Patterson has leprosy and therefore is shunning any close contact with him, the prospects of such movie are not that attractive.

Oh please, please that would be so special, I have shared the Gilmore Girls with my daughter, and as she has moved overseas I have had to fill her in till it gets to ozzieland.

To have a movie to share with her would be so special, a proper ending to a beautiful series, that I am sure many mothers and daughters shared.

    please do it.
    thank you
    from a grateful fan.

I would like to see Paris and Jess hook up.

I agree with Kim and Noele. Amy made sure she placed two nails in the GG coffin: Lorelai sleeping with Christopher and signing up David Sutcliffe for 13 eppies. Then DR buried the show because well frankly because he got stuck with DS for 13 eppies and Lorelai sleeping with Christopher, and so his only way out is to get them married.
I cannot trust ASP again. When she didn’t get what she wanted from the network she turned around and destroyed everything that was fun and happy and beautiful in Gilmore. Nevermind the loyal fans who supported the show all the way.
LG and AB does not want to have anything to do with GG anymore that’s why there’s no season 8. Who’s going to change their mind?

I believe it, when we may watch it eventually.

I would love to see closure to the gilmore girls. it has had 7 wonderful years. i feel the fans deserve a true closing to gilmore girls. LG and AB should also feel that way. the fans are what have made them successful ! the two will always be known as the gilmore girls.when you start something i believe you should complete it.

i really wish for closure. i just truely love this real life fairy-tale.

I really hope there is a movie, Gilmore Girls needs a little bit more of an ending. I hope Amy comes back and really makes a statement about Gilmore Girls and how strong the show is. ONE MORE FOR THE FANS!
