God’s Not Dead, the independent movie that’s been burning up the screens across the U.S., landing in the Top 5 at the box office for the past two weekends in a row, has finally gotten a Canadian release date! We’ve had numerous letters from our Tribute fans asking when the film is coming to Canada and we’re pleased to report the movie is opening on April 11 in select cities. The movie was in the number four spot this past weekend at the box office, having climbed a spot from the previous weekend. It’s about Josh, a college freshman who finds his faith challenged on his first day of Philosophy class by his professor, who tells the class they have to deny the existence of God in writing or face failing the class. Josh takes him on and is given the assignment of proving the existence of God through research, intellectual arguments and evidence. Despite being in limited release, the movie has brought in a total of $32.52 million in three weeks in the U.S. Here are the cities confirmed to release the movie in Canada:

Cities:
Toronto
Richmond Hill
Waterloo
Whitby
St. Catharines
Ottawa
Winnipeg
Calgary
Edmonton
Red Deer
Vancouver
Kamloops
Kelowna
Nanaimo

Bad reviews all around; it probably won’t convince the non-believers with it’s heavy handed Christian propaganda, but no doubt will resonate with the faithful.

Pseudoscience propaganda that hopes to undermine all the awe inspiring things we have discovered in the observable universe. It seems like an oxymoron to me that the christians must declare that their supposed omnicient, omnipotent deity “isn’t dead”. What a crock!

Bad reviews? Maybe from critics, not from people who’ve seen it. And the box office it’s doing, for an independent movie is phenomenal. I have to say, I’m curious about this one and I’ll probably go see it to find out why it’s so popular.

I have heard nothing but fabulous things about this movie from people who have seen it–and it has been highly recommended regardless of where you sit in your own belief system.

It was Euclid, the father of Geometry, who stated “The laws of nature are the mathematical thoughts of God.” You can take that statement in whatever context you like, but the fact remains that science has not, and can not, provide an answer as to how the exact ratio of elements combined at the perfect time through the perfect processes to create life as we know it. There is absolutely no way that a single-celled organism can become such a complex system such as a human; science has not and can not reproduce this in a lab. They have used existing yeast cells to show how single celled can become multi-celled organisms, but even those scientists will tell you that you can not reproduce complex life as we know it from a single-celled organism in a lab. It just isn’t possible.

Now, I’m not saying science is bad. I’m just saying science will never be able to disprove God’s existence. Likewise, many will argue that Christians also can not prove God’s existence. However, if you look around you–you can see the brilliance and perfection of God’s creations, regardless of the scientific processes attached to them (i.e. photosynthesis, Murphy’s Law, Laws of Gravity, etc) **That said, humans are not perfect anymore, but were created as perfect images of God, before Eve fell to temptation and Adam, through his free will, decided to not go against sin, thus bringing down mankind.**

Not all people will agree, and I’m not looking to debate, I’m just stating it is what it is. Science has yet to provide compelling evidence for their case against God’s existence; Christians and their faith use the Bible for their compelling case for God. For a non-believer, the Bible isn’t proof enough, and I respect that. For Christians, science supports the complexity of life as God created it.

I will also say that many long-age earth models come up short. Scientists in their various fields can not explain why their models do not work; the problem lies in what they assume the age of earth to be. If they decreased the age, they would find their models would work wonderfully–however, it goes against what has been indoctrinated, so it is better to create theories as to why they are wrong instead of changing one simple factor in a model. ((I don’t know what that exact age is, and I don’t think anyone on earth does, but what I do know is that the Bible puts human life on earth a bit over 4100yrs, using the current Roman calendar year system.))

In a nutshell, to each his own; don’t waste your time judging others because of what they do or do not believe. The world is made up of many kinds of people, so learn to respect opinions of others as we should be thankful that we can freely express these opinions.

This movie is the success that it is because many people are getting tired of films with the “anything goes” themes of violence, sexuality and hedonism, and are looking for something to uplift their souls to something other than extremes of animalism.

PLEASE bring this movie to London, Ontario.

Is there someone with an AGENDA blocking distribution of this movie in Canada?

Seems like it. It’s doing gangbuster numbers in the States. Somebody somewhere is losing a ton of money by not giving it wider distribution in Canada.

Just came from seeing this movie and I thought it was excellent. I’ve noticed such anger in comments from other sites about this movie. so I know that it has stirred something up inside all those who actually saw the movie (or didn’t and are just criticizing because they know it is a Christian movie). God is NOT dead – He is very much alive! and He has created a longing inside of each person – He’s created us all – that only He can fill. SO if you are an atheist, agnostic, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. God is very much alive and only HE can provide wholeness to each of us. We ALL will stand before Him someday and declare that He is Lord! That’s the truth! I don’t have to prove that to you.
