Hansel & Gretel hunt to top of box office

A twist on a classic fairy tale takes the top spot this week. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunter, starring Jeremy Renner, debuted in the No. 1 spot over the weekend and brought in an estimated $19 million and 3.6 stars out of 5 from Tribute users. In its second weekend at the box office, Oscar-nominee Jessica Chastain’s horror film, Mama, dropped one spot to No. 2 with an additional $12.9 million and a 3.9 star rating. Silver Linings Playbook still holds on to the third spot with $10 million and 4.3 stars. A very close fourth place, also starring Chastain, was Zero Dark Thirty, with $9.8 million and 3.6 stars. Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez’s new film, Parker, rounded out the top five with $7 million and 3.2 stars.
