Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford Helen Mirren claims food is a ''very important part'' of her relationship with Taylor Hackford. The actress plays a French gastronome in new film The Hundred-Foot Journey, and says eating has always been a key part of her marriage to the director. Helen told the New York Daily News: ''My relationship with my husband started over food, and quite a bit of vodka! We've had a long and happy relationship, and food has been a very important part of that relationship. Food can be sensual, but it can also be the glue that holds a relationship together.'' Despite being 69, Helen likes to keep up with popular culture, embracing graphic novels and listening to Lana Del Rey, although one thing she can't stand is Twitter. She explained: ''Twitter is like a greasy, horrible stinky old man in a corner of a bar, and you go up to him and say 'Hi' because you want to be polite, then he starts being horrible. I can't believe people spend their lives writing horrible things about other people!''
