Hollywood casting news

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 4, 2013 | 4 Comments

As 2013 begins, brand new productions and casting tidbits are being announced. Here is some of the most exciting production news released in the last week. Fairy tale-based productions are very much in vogue right now, and the latest project to be announced is a live-action version of Cinderella, with Cate Blanchett in talks to play the evil stepmother. Tom Cruise is busier than ever, with the sci-fi adventure All You Need is Kill next on his schedule, co-starring Emily Blunt and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. One of the busiest actresses of 2012, Elizabeth Banks is not taking any time off. Next up for her is a starring role opposite James Marsden in the comedy Walk of Shame, playing a TV news anchor who loses not only all her money, but her ID, phone and car the night before an important job interview. Hugh Jackman is in talks to reprise his role as Wolverine in X-Men: Days of Future Past. And finally, Seth MacFarlane, who wrote and directed the hit comedy Ted and will be hosting this year’s Academy Awards, is writing and starring in a Western called A Million Ways to Die in the West. Which of these are you most looking forward to?

I’m looking forward to anything starring Robert Pattinson. Anything will be better than that piece of crap he was in last year, Cosmopolis. That has to be the worst movie of 2012.
