Hottest events at San Diego Comic-Con 2014

The countdown is on for San Diego Comic-Con 2014. With so much going on the convention can be overwhelming and we’re here to help. Here are some events where you can let your geek flag fly!

Wednesday July 23 is the RSVP ONLY Comic-Con Kick Off party at 435 Sixth Avenue thrown by Hitfix and Lucasfilm, featuring an exclusive look at the new CGI animated series Star Wars Rebels. Starts at 9:00 p.m.

Wil Wheaton will appear at the Geek & Sundry Lounge during the fan event run by Felicia Day starting Thursday at 10:00 a.m. through to Friday. The location is Jolt’n Joe’s, 379 Fourth Avenue and is open to the public.

On Thursday, July 24th be ready to party-hop to:

Get ready to repent for any sins you commit at the Sin City 2 (A Dame to Kill For) party. It’s invitation only and features a performance by band the Suicide Girls. Runs 7:00 to 11:30 p.m at the Hard Rock Hotel, 207 Fifth Avenue.

Be sure to bring your SDCC badge as it’s first come, first served to the Her Universe’s After Show & Party. It’s a “Geek Couture” fashion show and competition from geeky companies Her Universe, Hot Topic, and Nerdist Industries. Runs 6:00-9:00 p.m. Harbor Ballroom, Manchester Grand Hyatt.

Be sure to bring you SDCC badges to the free event hosted by mtvU Fandom Awards and MTV Fan Fest. They’re bringing you performances by Linkin Park, as well as giveaways and more! Starts 7:00 p.m. at Petco Park.

RSVP required to the Witches of East End party where you can meet the cast and creators of this television series. Runs 8:00 p.m until midnight at The Tipsy Crow, 770 Fifth Avenue.

It’s a good idea to buy the $10 tixs to Wooden Wisdom DJ at club Bang Bang. Although it’s free before 10:30 p.m, entrance isn’t guaranteed. You won’t want to miss hearing actor Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie as DJ team Wooden Wisdom. 9:30 p.m. Bang Bang, 526 Market Street.

Always a HUGE event: the Nerd HQ Fan party is RSVP only. Starts at 9:00 p.m at Petco Park.

Hit television series Showtime’s Penny Dreadful is also throwing a party. It’s invitation only and you can join creator John Logan and the cast for cocktails and appetizers. Runs 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the US Grant Hotel.

Friday, July 24th

Are you excited for the new Flash television series? Learn more and meet the stars and producers from the upcoming series as well as actors from The Walking Dead, True Blood and Teen Wolf. RSVP is required to the Flash Bash. Runs 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Altitude Sky Lounge: Marriott Gaslamp.

Get geeky and celebrate the 10th Annual Heroes Vs Villains Party. Your costume gets you in free before 11:00 p.m. You can dance the night away and enjoy a Cosplay Contest at 12:30 a.m.

If you want a funky Funko Friday, be sure to attend the 8:00 pm Wyndham San Diego Bayside event, featuring amazing Funko giveaways! Tickets are $70 but each attendee gets a world famous Funko Box of Fun filled with surprises!

If you can score an invite to this invitation only event you can meet actors Paul Wesley, Pedro Pascal, Brittany Snow, Chris Daughtry, Dan Weiss, David Benioff, Evan Peters, Ian Somerhalder and Nelsan Ellis, among others. Running from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., the Playboy and A&E Bates Motel party will also feature the cast and creators from the upcoming Bates Motel series. You can find the event at Seventh Avenue, between Island and Market Street.

You can get tickets for the one-hour event Hollywood Babble-on, which will have fanboy Kevin Smith in attendance. It runs 11:00 p.m. to midnight at the House of Blues located at 1055 Fifth Avenue. Tickets are required.

Saturday, July 25th

20th Century Fox is holding one helluva bash! Meet the talent from television series like Sleepy Hollow, Salem, Family Guy, The Simpsons, American Horror Story and American Dad. The event is invitation only, hosted by Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman. Runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m at the Pizzeria Mozza, 789 Harbor Drive.

Get your photo taken on the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones at the Entertainment Weekly bash. Sponsored by HBO, the event is invitation only and located at Float at the Hard Rock Hotel, 207 Fifth Ave, starting 9:00 p.m.
