Hugh Jackman turned down Bond role

By Alexandra Heilbron on October 19, 2011 | 13 Comments

Hugh Jackman recently revealed that he turned down the opportunity to play James Bond in Casino Royale. The role eventually went to Daniel Craig. Jackman told the Press Association that the timing just wasn’t right. “I got a call from my agent saying, ‘There is some possible interest in you for Bond, are you interested?’ At the time I wasn’t,” he explained. “I was about to shoot X-Men 2 and Wolverine had become this thing in my life and I didn’t want to be doing two such iconic characters at once.” However, he went on to add that if offered the chance again, he might respond differently this time, saying: “I think every male at some point thinks about playing James Bond. So it was not right then, but it may be right if it comes back.”

He would be perfect for the role. Much better than Daniel Craig. I hope they ask them again.

Not sure it makes that much sense. He is an Aussie not a Brit…He is a better fit than Craig that’s for sure but not sure if he is the best for the role.

I want Jason Isaacs to be the next Bond. I think he would be incredible and I said this back before D. Craig was cast.
Hugh would be okay too, but I’m team Jason for next Bond pick.

I think he’d be perfect for the role. I’m Not going to go see amother Bond film again anyway. So it really doesn’t matter to me; just saying.

Hey, stop knocking Daniel Craig. He is an awesome Bond. Besides, I heard it was going to be Robert Pattison next… 🙂

The masochism in Daniel Craig is weighty, he does not have that gentlemanly finese so perfectly etched in the characters of past 007. Hugh Jackman will definitely step into that shoes confortably.

Sean Connery, the BEST James Bond of all time is not British, he is Scottish and damn sexy!

    Craig rocked the role…

Craig is the best James Bond since Roger Moore. I can’t see Hugh Jackman as Bond, unless Bond grows blades on his fists.

Hugh Jackman can act. Just for curiosity sake, I’d like to see him as James Bond, Might just work.
