Hugh Jackman wants to be James Bond

By Tribute on December 13, 2012 | 9 Comments

In an interview with The Sun, actor Hugh Jackman took a moment to talk about his buddy Daniel Craig and how he regrets passing up the opportunity to claim Craig’s coveted role as James Bond number six. Back in 2006, at the time of Craig’s first appearance as 007 in Martin Campbell‘s Casino Royale, Jackman was far too busy playing the clawed mutant Wolverine in X-Men: The Last Stand. Looking back, Jackman notes that he felt “at the time it was wrong for me, but when I saw Daniel in the movie I thought maybe I should have been more interested.” However, Jackman, who stars in one of this holiday season’s biggest blockbusters, Les Misérables, doesn’t take the loss too seriously, joking that the “good thing about Daniel is he’s, what, 62 now, isn’t he?” and adds, “I just keep telling him ‘I’m ready, whenever you want to let him go, I’m ready.’” Jackman and Craig are both 44. ~Brandon Bastaldo

I think when Jackman is done with Wolverine it could be a good choice for him. They broke the mold with Daniel Craig as Bond- being blond and blue eyed. And with The last Bond villan being Latin decent and worked for MI6 (spoiler alert) opens the door that an Australian, and not a straight up Brit or UK (Connery was Scottish), can assume the roll.

@C-Dub He was born in Australia but both of his parents are British. His mom went back to Britain to live when he was about 6 yrs. old something like that. Also Australia is really a British Colony. Britains settled there Years ago. So in essence he is British. If he moved there and got British citizenship, he could say he’s British too. Its basicly the same.

He would be amazing as Bond! I would go see my first Bond film if he was starring in it.

Hmmmm…. Yum, Mr. Jackman would make a fine James Bond. The hottest one since Connery.

Hugh Jackman to be James Bond? Bad, bad, bad, Idea.

Personally I think Jack Huston aka Richard Harrow,on Boardwalk Empire would fit the bill of 007 perfectly!

The hottest one since Connery & Brosnan period.

I like Hugh a lot but my first choice would be Gerrald Butler. Sorry guys 🙂 Keep killing other roles Hugh you rock. Love the Wolverine don’t ever let them change that and Van Helsing would be nice to see again. Great work in Les Miserable. LOL! Awesome seriuosly 🙂

Idris Elba. Dude’s got the suave, the look, and the bad assery it takes to be Bond. Also a Brit, but a black Bond would be very interesting indeed
