How much would you pay for a Mockingjay pin? Target has announced it will sell collector’s items, including a 14-karat gold Mockingjay pin for $999 along with the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Hunger Games. In the film, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) is given the pin by her little sister before heading to the Capitol. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Target also plans to sell a $699 lithograph autographed by the cast, including Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, and a replica of Katniss’ leather hunting jacket for $349. However, there will only be 100 of each item available for purchase. Target understands most Hunger Games devotees aren’t made of money, so they'll also be selling a large range of more reasonably priced products, from jewelry to picture frames. The DVD and Blu-ray releases on August 21. ~Isabelle Khoo

Wow! $999 for a mockingjay pin? Though solid gold, that's still insane. i think only truly die-hard fans would buy that
I've paid lots of money for movie items I loved! I wont be buying this, I'm not a big Hunger Games fan, but I think it's a great idea for those who are

The pin idea is cool, but the solid gold i unnecessary. Plus, if I remember correctly, the way she gets it in the movie isn't how it happens in the book. I don't see many people blowing $1000 dollars on this.
As a pretty huge Hunger Games fan, I'd never spend the money on a 14 karat gold pin.. it just seems kind of pointless. Cool idea, but I wouldn't really know what to do with it. I wonder how well they'll sell
So apparently by affiliating anything with a movie, you can sell just about anything. Well done Target
Trust me, these pins and leather jackets will sell just fine. I know a lot of spoiled tweens who can convince their parents of anything. Sad, but true.
Wow i so wouldnt pay that much for a pin and a movie. but i got my mockingjay pi for free so i dont need to even think about buying one. hell you can get one made at a jewelry store for less then that. if the jacket set was cheaper, i would say that one will sell better then the pin.
Ridiculous. Once this stupid craze dies down, anyone who bought that junk will be kicking themselves.
