Hunger Games sequel casting narrowed down to three

The casting for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is heating up. Rumors are flying that Lionsgate (the studio behind the Hunger Games franchise) is getting close to casting the sequel’s most buzzed about character, Finnick Odair. According to E! News, the search has been narrowed down to three actors, with the decision expected to be announced as early as next week. Taylor Kitsch (pictured at left), Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund are all speculated to be in contention for the role. Each actor brings some level of recognition to the franchise as Hammer plays the lead role alongside Johnny Depp in The Lone Ranger, while Hedlund wowed audiences in Tron: Legacy and Friday Night Lights star Kitsch can be seen saving the world in the blockbuster Battleship. Last week the rumor mill was running rampant with talk of Robert Pattinson taking over the part, however, he swiftly denied the claims, saying he’d never been offered it. ~Kyle Sharp

Kitsch needs to redeem himself since he is now branded box office poison. I hope he gets the role since I loved him on Friday Night Lights and deserves to do well in the movies. Go Taylor!
I don’t care who gets the role, as long as it’s not Kitsch. All of his big screen films have flubbed in the box office, and that isn’t a good rep to start off with. At this rate, he’ll have gathered a group of ‘haters’ who won’t want to see him in this film. If Kitsch is in this movie many fans will be very disappointed. Nothing against Kitsch, I just don’t want this movie to flub because of him and his little ‘flub streak’.
bad plot for a movie in the first place…children killing children…come on…that is just ludicrous and to have a sequel yet? insane
Pam, have you read the books? It’s very poignant of what our society could potentially become. It takes place in the future, not today. But today, children are already killing children. It’s books like ‘Hunger Games’ that make us realize how violent our world has become and how much further said violence could take us. It’s brilliant. Don’t judge something you have yet to even read.
