Both Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron are playing the role of the evil witch, but in different Snow White adaptations. Julia stars alongside Lily Collins as Snow White in Mirror Mirror, while Charlize creates misery for Kristen Stewart‘s Snow White in the action-driven Snow White and The Huntsman. Trailers for both movies were recently released, so we’re wondering: Which witch do you think is the most dangerous? Here’s what we’re thinking: While Julia seems a little pouty in Mirror Mirror, she’s not that nasty. Also, her British accent completely disappears at times — but we’re not sure if she’s actually supposed to be British in this movie or if she’s playing an American who puts on a British accent for effect (think Madonna). In any case, she should have checked out Anjelica Huston‘s portrayal of Cinderella’s evil stepmother in Ever After for inspiration. Watch the trailer for Snow White and The Huntsman by clicking here. On the other hand, Charlize, who won an Oscar for playing a murderer in Monster, is downright chilling as she cooly kills those whom her mirror tells her are fairest in the land. Charlie’s Angels is a guilty pleasure that makes you laugh and chuckle at every turn. It’s got a hook and if not for that, watch it for Kristen Stewart.
Ouch. That accent IS bad. I don’t think I’ve ever heard Julia attempt a British accent.
I don’t think either of them is scary.
Julia is more for kids and Charlize is more for adults. They both look pretty good though.
Overwhelming results. Charlize wins it seems. Charlize can do evil or good. Julia is only good.
The tones of the two movies are different – Julia Roberts is in the more light hearted movie – Charlize in the darker – so Charlize comes off a bit more evil – I wouldn’t call her performance scary though.
Charlize is going to rock it! She can just do about any role, good, evil, funny, dramatic. One of my favorite actresses. I like Julia Roberts, but SWATH appeals so much more to me. Ofcourse having Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in the movie is a bonus! Love both of them, Kristen has done some pretty amazing work, The Runaways and Welcome to the Rileys, just to name few.
