Jennifer Hudson‘s road to success has been filled with incredible ups and downs and she shares her story with fans in her new autobiographical book, ”I Got This : How I Changed My Ways, Found Myself, and Lost What Weighed Me Down.” Hudson went from being an American Idol contestant to an Oscar winner for her work in the movie Dreamgirls — but also experienced tremendous tragedy in 2008 when three members of her family were murdered by her brother-in-law. In 2010, Jennifer has lost 80 pounds on the Weight Watcher’s plan and says her two year-old son David has never seen her overweight. She told Good Housekeeping: “If he sees a clip of the old Jennifer from Dreamgirls, he doesn’t know who it is.” Hudson says the secret to her successful weight loss is eating more healthy and working out at a gym four times a week. “There would be times I would be sitting on the couch, like, Man, I really don’t feel like working out,” she admits with a laugh. “So I’d force myself to just get up and run — literally run — out the door. Because if you sit there and think about it, you’re going to talk yourself out of it.” She made an appearance yesterday at a Barnes and Noble store at Old Orchard Mall in Skokie, Illinois to sign copies of her new book, with her boyfriend David Otunga and their son onhand to support her.

This is a woman who actually does something with her life and issues. Great singer, then get recognized and show the world your voice and did very well. And she was larger and people commented, well she worked hard and took off 80lbs! And is keeping it off. She pushes herself to act and wins an Oscar?! And her family is murdered and she still moves on in her life. This is a woman who doesn’t take life sitting down. She is doing it! Let her life be a lesson to us all when you feel your life is down.
Good for her! I would love to read her book.
