Jennifer Lawrence was only paid $500,000 plus box office bonuses for her leading role in The Hunger Games, and considering the film made over $672 million worldwide that number is surprisingly small. Lead actors in big films - especially franchises - usually rake in millions. But no need to worry for Jennifer, since it's being reported that the 21-year-old actress is getting a major pay raise for the upcoming sequel in the Hunger Games saga, Catching Fire. Her pay is being bumped to $10 million. Although Jennifer was already under contract for four Hunger Games films, producers renegotiated the terms after the immense success of the first film. Her co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth are also getting raises for the next film, although theirs will be much more modest. Catching Fire is set to commence filming in September with I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence taking over for the director of the first film, Gary Ross. ~Stacy Raivich

Can't wait for Catching Fire. But I do have a few complaints. They are dragging out the casting process, I suppose to try and keep fans interested, but the movie isn't coming out until next November. So that's a year and a half between each movie. Then Mockingjay is in two parts. If they keep it up Hemsworth will be 27 playing a 19 year old by the end of it all.
$500k?? That's still great money. But then again everyone liked her performance in Xmen First Class, and I think she had been in other things as well, I thought a cool mill would have been the min for her.
I don't see how a pay raise of such magnitude can be justified when such money would be better spent elsewhere.
I didn't realize she was in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed the movie.
$500,000 is allot of money, but not by Hollywood standards. It, honestly, feels like they ripped her off in the first film. At least the $10 million averages out her salary per movie nicely.
