Jeremy Piven has staff get phone out of toilet

Despite having to drop out of a Broadway show a little over a year ago due to mercury poisoning from overconsumption of sushi, Entourage star Jeremy Piven just can’t seem to keep away from sushi restaurants. Though he’s slowly introduced fish back into his diet, he reportedly only had veggie rolls. But when he dropped his cell phone into the toilet at the Chicago restaurant, he summoned staff to come and fish it out. He then had them pack it in uncooked rice to dry it out (keep this in mind for the next time you drop your phone into a toilet). Regarding his mercury poisoning, he said he should have spoke up to defend himself against the people who didn’t believe that he was really sick. “I didn’t retaliate,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “I decided to take the high road. Now I think I did the wrong thing in doing that.”

He should have got his own phone out of the toilet. How can you stand there while you make someone else fish for your phone out of your urine/crap. I have to say i have a lot less respect for him now.

Can’t actors do anything without an assistant? Sheesh, get it out yourself. I’ve dropped mine in (the water was clean though) and gotten it out myself. I would die of embarrassment if someone else had to do it for me. And as a staff member, I would refuse to do it for him. Not for any money.

We don’t know the whole story. He could have just asked staff if they had ‘something’ to get it out of the toilet with, tongs, a spoon. I’m sure he didn’t expect someone else to stick their hand in the toilet. We are always quickest to think the worst.

dale, “We are always quickest to think the worst.” is a true statement for most people that come on here. the reason behind that is they are looking for some reason to hate these people because they are so much better off than the rest of us and get everything handed to them/done for them just because they pretend to be someone they arent in movies or tv shows. as far as im concerned celebs are just children playing house, who never really outgrew the phase and chose to do it as a career.

I agree with you Mandee, and nice choice of words too

@ mandee, while i agree with you for the most part you must admit that “celebs just playing house” or not, we the working class still fund that mentality by paying big bucks every year to watch/listen/gossip about them. if we want to avoid paying for them to be that way then indie films should be our focus.

i never said we arent the cause of their success, i completely agree that we are. i also firmly believe that people make too big a deal out of meeting these PEOPLE. they act like they are gods and goddesses, when in fact they make their living by lying (pretending to be people they clearly are not). i think there is way too much hype and obsession for these people. if someone reacted by screaming, throwing themselves at (etc) any regular working joe, police would be involved and the people would probably get a psych evaluation. so, why are they allowed to act that way with celebs? we see them in their job all the time, on tv, in the news, in movies…they are just working humans like the rest of us.
