The highly-anticipated sequel to the 1994 comedy Dumb and Dumber has run into a major problem — Jim Carrey has left the production. The original film starred Carrey, alongside Jeff Daniels, as two idiot friends on an adventure to return a suitcase full of money to its rightful owner. The film was a box-office hit and became a classic in the comedy genre, so news of the sequel was stirring up quite a buzz. However, sources say Carrey was frustrated by the studios producing the sequel, because he felt they showed a lack of enthusiasm. The actor confirmed he is no longer attached to the project in a statement issued by his publicist, saying, “I would’ve thought Dumb and Dumber Too was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title.” Since Carrey is no longer part of the production, the film – which was set to begin shooting this Fall – is no longer a certainty. ~Stacy Raivich
