Joan RiversOver a month after her death, New York medical examiners have determined that the cause of Joan River’s death was due to a lack of blood oxygen, causing her heart to stop. There is no explanation for what disrupted the flow of oxygen, but medical examiners have stated that they found no obvious medical error in their investigation and called the incident a “therapeutic complication” – one of the risks of surgery. “We continue to be saddened by our tragic loss and grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support from around the world,” daughter Melissa Rivers told ABC News. There was no autopsy performed on Rivers at the behest of her family, but examiner’s made the report through a noninvasive examination of her body and through a detailed study of her charts. The New York State Health Department has recently completed its investigation into her death and the results are still pending. ~Kelly Townsend
