Jon Bon Jovi opens up about daughter’s overdose

By Tribute on November 21, 2012 | 7 Comments

While rocker Jon Bon Jovi was interviewed by Fox 11 about his original songs for the upcoming Stand Up Guys, he also opened up about his daughter’s heroin overdose. Last week, Kirkland police received a distress call from a friend in Stephanie Bongiovi’s Hamilton College dorm room saying the 19-year-old student had overdosed and was unresponsive. When asked about the ordeal, Bon Jovi said, “What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don’t take it too seriously it’s a great way to make a living. And then life goes on, things happen.” The possession charges against both Bongiovi and fellow Hamilton student Ian Grant were dropped due to the ‘Good Samaritan 911 law’ that allows people to report overdoses without having to fear being arrested for drug possession. Bon Jovi added, “This tragedy was something I had to face too…people’s warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring.” He’ll be playing a concert to benefit Hamilton College’s scholarship programs on December 5 in Times Square. ~Brandon Bastaldo

Another celebrity who’s too busy navel gazing to care about his family.

A benefit show for the college..saying thanks for not kicking his daughter out for drugs basically. Nice. Maybe a new library will be named after him when he donates a million.
She needs more to scare her other than almost dying.

How do you know that he is too busy to care about his family? Dont knock on the father because his daughter…who is in college surrounded by peers who may be experimenting with drugs and not knowing their limits.

His band members will tell you he’s one of the most decent of men…not just entertainer….but human being you will ever meet…He IS a family man….get your facts straight before you go damming his reputation with small minded ideas.

Why are so many people jelous of people like Jon
The comment about navel gazing made me feel sick inside
John took life by the balls & worked very hard, I know, I know some celebs & they live a hard working life, not like the generation we have around us now sitting on their butts expecting the world to come to THEM !

Jon can confirm nothing can surpass being a parent, your life changes forever, GREAT JOY & TERRIFYING FEAR

    Bless you Lon
