We may have just reached the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Justin Bieber's impossibly stratospheric fame, because it looks like he might just take a step off the stage and onto the rink. E! News is reporting that Matt O'Dette, head coach of Canada's Bakersfield Condors, is looking to sign the young pop star to his national, minor league team. O'Dette told the website that they would be offering the star a tryout contract for the upcoming season. "Very rarely do you see this combination of skill and toughness," said the coach, commenting on Bieber's skills on the hockey rink. "[I'd] scouted some video of him online skating with my hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, and I think he could provide some elusive speed up front for us. Plus, he's a right-handed shot, which we've been looking to add." The video in question emerged last December when Usher's protegé was spotted playing with the Toronto NHL team. The general manager of the Condors - Matt Riley - has extended the formal invitation to join the team, and is "hopeful" that he will accept. ~Devin Garabedian

I forsee a lot of pre-teen girls becoming hockey fans in the near future. Good on him though, singer, dancer, "actor" if you can call him that, and now (semi) pro athlete? The guy can do no wrong!
Yeah, I'm sure he has plenty of time to play a hockey season after the still recent release of his new album. I'm sure it would be a full house at every game though, it's worth a shot.
I would happily bodycheck Justin Bieber.
Can we never be free of hearing about this little creep!!!!!!!!! How many get a chance at something like that ....it's just because he's famous. I call that a cheap shot.
Please, god, no.
What's wrong with you people. Why can't he both a good singer and a good hockey player? Why does it have to be one or the other? You're all just jealous!!
I wouldnt go watch Beiber TRY to sing let alone play hockey. My biggest wish is that someone would put him through the boards on his first game.
Meh. More power to him.
whatever. if it makes him happy.
if it gets him off the stage, i say do it
That's awesomeee!
I'm pretty sure he's not joining the team, just guessing about that tho.
That's what every Canadian boy would like to do, and Justin is fortunate enough to be able to do both ... sing and play hockey. I'm a proud Canadian! And as for the jealous people writing in, go get a life!
I would like to see that, for a couple of shifts anyway. You wouldn't see the little wiener, anywhere near the puck, or the boards, if he knows what good for him. Otherwise, it would be the end of the world, for this little queer. I'm just sayin'... like it is!!
canada sucks just like any other country with a corrupt, criminal, terrorist government, banks and corporations F@#k canada
He's gonna get his a*s kicked so hard playing with REAL hockey players on the ice!! Although i'd pay to see that
Why are you all SO mean to Bieber? He's so talented and loves his fans so much and he gets so much hate from everyone. It just breaks my heart! I'M A BELIEBER!!!!
Sarah I am on your side! I freakin love bieber! the kid is so talented, i mean i am a single mom with 3 kids and i love listening to his CD when i drive them to school and then to soccer later. He really gives me inspiration that anyone can make it - LUV you bieber! and so do my kidz
Greg, such a gay statement.
Anyway, this is more likely publicity thing to generate fans and revenue...but why not?! If it works it works and if he actually is talented in hockey then that can only add to his appeal with the fans he's got.
He might be able to play for the Leafs, but he's just not good enough for the Condors.
What a joke!
it is
