Kate Winslet has separated from her husband, Sam Mendes, who directed her in 2008′s Revolutionary Road, opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, for which she won a Golden Globe. Their lawyers confirmed the news yesterday afternoon, saying: “Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect the privacy of the family.” The two married in 2003 in a private ceremony in the Caribbean. They have a six-year-old son together. Kate also has a 10-year-old daughter from a previous marriage that lasted three years to British director Jim Threapleton. ~Alexandra Heilbron

well, this sucks for them. this is a bad pic of kate. i like her as an actress.
I don’t think there could be a bad picture of Kate, she’s stunning. She’s a strong confident woman, I have no doubt she’ll bounce back. Same with Sam. They’re both talented and I’m sure have lots of support.
I’m genuinely disappointed. I loved them together. 2 very talented people collaborating…the only thing that would make this better is if she and Leo got together.
I was shocked to hear this. They seemed like a great couple together. We better not start hearing rumors about her and Leo together!!
Why would anyone wish that? Leo is married and has children as well. I would never wish for a family to split up.
