Katie Holmes to play older woman opposite Chace Crawford

Katie Holmes has signed on to play a starring role in the romantic comedy Responsible Adults. She’ll play 30-year-old-med student Liz Quinn, who meets a charming 22-year-old named Baxter Wood (played by Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford). The two feel an instant connection, but when she realizes they’ve already met — she was his babysitter 15 years earlier — she has second thoughts. However, Baxter doesn’t want to give up that easily. This will be Crawford’s first romantic lead role in a comedy. He was previously attached to the Footloose remake but dropped out. Myriad Pictures CEO Kirk D’Amico says: “The script is very funny. Katie Holmes and Chace Crawford are appealing actors around the world. And [director] Jon Poll is a a terrific filmmaker. We are really pleased to help bring Responsible Adults to the big screen.”

Katie Holmes is homely and not a great actress… her main fame is her marriage and spoiling of her child Suri. Hot script or not this will flop – too bad for Crawford he’s a hot up and comer.
Whoever said Katie Holmes is homely is in dire need of an eye exam. She is one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood, in the style of Demi Moore and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Katie had her own career long before Tom….and she is beautiful!!

boring actors, boring movie…pass
@ Linda Marek, No. I wouldn’t put her with Demi Moore & Catherine Zeta Jones, and I actually wondered why you even chose THOSE particular actresses to put her with anyway. What does she have in common with them? Zeta & Moore are both MUCH older than Holmes anyway and have had blockbusters in their careers (BEFORE they were married). Holmes has not. And won’t, sad to say (Batman Begins doesn’t count because it was already a bestselling franchise LONG before her).
Frankly, I think you placed Holmes with Zeta & Moore because they’re all on the “darker side”, skin-tone-wise. They all have Mediteranean skin tones and dark hair & eyes. I say that because that’s the only thing they have in common. Nothing else. Please don’t try to deny this. It’s just too obvious.
PS, yes she had Dawson’s Creek to her name but how long ago was that? That’s like saying Nicole Kidman had her BMX BANDITS TV show in Australia (without admitting that it was 1983).
