Katy Perry turned down role in The Help

Katy Perry‘s new hit song “Part of Me” has reached number one, making it her seventh number one song from her album, which was re-released as “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.” While Perry is basking in the success of her musical career, the singer has also begun acting. She played a guest role on the TV series How I Met Your Mother last year and also voiced the character of Smurfette in 2011’s The Smurfs, but Perry has revealed she turned down a role in an Academy-Award winning film. Perry was offered a small role in The Help, but due to musical conflicts, she had to turn it down. “There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help — just a small part, I wasn’t going to be Emma Stone or anything — but I couldn’t because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record,” she told Teen Vogue. The documentary/music concert film Katy Perry: Part of Me will be released in theaters on July 4. ~Renita Naraine

Just what we need…another actress that can’t act.

Well, I would have hated The Help if she was in it. Seriously, she cant sing, she can barely act, all she does is show her boobs and lip sync to her over auto tuned voice. Oh how I miss the days of REAL singers from the 80s and 90s when auto tune wasn’t so prominent.

She would have ruined the movie.

everyone makes mistakes. And I think she might not have ruined the movie. I bet it was as a pin up girl. She fits that mould just fine-see pic above. Or as a 50’s/60’s singer she would have done fine. Otherwise the movie turned out great without her.
