Kelsey Grammer to play villain in Transformers 4

The world of Autobots and Decepticons returns in Michael Bay‘s Transformers 4, a start of a new trilogy with a revamped cast. After Shia LaBeouf bowed out, Mark Wahlberg was chosen as the new leading man. The film will also star Irish newcomer Jack Reynor, Bates Motel‘s Nicola Peltz and Stanley Tucci. Just announced as joining the mix is Emmy-award winner Kelsey Grammer, who signed on to play villain Harold Attinger, described as a “counter-intelligence” agent. The Frasier star seems fit for the role since he’s familiar with playing evil, villainous-type characters such as Mayor Tom Kane, a hard-ass politician in Starz’s Boss and voiced Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons and Stinky Pete in Toy Story 2. Bay refuses to spill any plot details but he does say, “We’re going to start off smaller. There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom. The history of the first three movies is still there, we start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast.” Shooting for Transformers 4 is set to start this summer for a June 27, 2014 release date. ~E.
